DIGITAL PAINTING – Embellished with Acrylic

Digital Painting is the technique of creating art using computer technology. The pencil, brush is replaced by an electronic Stylus and the paper is replaced by a tablet.
I use an Apple iPad, Apple Pencil and some graphic software to create original art. Strokes of varying thickness and intensity are possible – pencils, charcoals, pastels so also painting strokes of oil, water colour, acrylics with possibility to erase, smudge.
The Digital Painting is then printed out on Archival Canvas or Paper using high quality Pigment Inks and printers. This artwork is then embellished with acrylic paint and varnished with multiple coats to give it a long life.
These are some of my recent Digital Paintings.
Meet the Artist
I am a retired electrical engineer who has now turned his hand to fine art.
I’ve always been drawn by the magical beauty of creation and design: be it fine art, electronic instruments or software.
I draw inspiration from the great masters in art, science and literature. From the the renaissance art of Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Holbein, Durer and others; writings of Gandhi, Tagore, Nehru and Krishnamurti.
Being a self-taught artist, I am not encumbered by any particular style or school of thought or medium. I have been experimenting with Acrylics, Oils, Watercolour, Charcoal, Graphite and Pastels on canvas as well as paper. I’ve had engineering as well as artistic connection with various software like Autocad, Coreldraw and Photoshop.
My latest foray is in Digital Art, using iPad, Apple pencil and software. This allows me to venture from realistic to Abstract and Surrealistic art with ease. I am also looking forward to digitally create science based art.
Whether realistic, abstract or contemporary; I endeavour to create art from which you can perceive Beauty … as in.. “There is great beauty in listening to a bird, to the wind among the leaves, and to a word that is spoken with depth, with meaning, with passion. Beauty is complete order.” J.Krishnamurti
